Mother’s Day is a great chance to show our Mums how much they’re loved. And who hasn’t felt loved when they’ve been given the gift of chocolate? Even better – given the gift of chocolate while still in bed?

Here at Choc on Choc, we really value chocolate breakfast in bed – so here are some ideas to do just that for your Mum this year.

Chocolate chip pancakes

This BBC recipe for chocolate chip pancakes will really put you in the good books.

Whisk together 2 eggs with 5 tbsp milk, and place 150g self-raising flour, 2 tbsp caster sugar and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Make a hole in the centre and pour in the liquid before whisking together. Stir in 75g dark chocolate chips, then, using a spoon, transfer a pancake-sized amount into a non-stick pan with a splash of sunflower oil. Serve, and take up to your lucky, lucky Mum.

White chocolate macadamia pancakes

White chocolate and macadamia is a combination made in heaven, and thanks to this recipe, it’s easy enough to make.

Combine 1 cup light vanilla soy milk with 1 ½ tbsp canola oil, and sift in 1 cup flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, pinch of salt, 1 tsp vanilla and stir until the lumps have gone. Add in 4 tbsp white chocolate chips and 3 tbsp lightly chopped macadamia nuts. Measure a pancake amount onto a medium-heat pan and flip when ready.

Chocolate Biscuits

For the mum with a sweet tooth – why not treat her to Choc on Choc Chocolate Biscuits in bed? And we don’t mean a Chocolate Digestive – we mean solid, Belgian chocolate, handcrafted to look just like her favourite elevenses snacks, including the Custard Cream and the trusty Bourbon. These white and milk chocolate delights will really get you in her good books.

Chocolate Cheese Board and Wine Bottle

For a delightfully decadent morning, spoil your mum with our Choc on Choc Belgian chocolate cheeseboard and chocolate half-bottle of wine. You can choose either white chocolate or dark chocolate for the wine bottle, depending on your Mum’s preference.
