Love it or hate it Valentine’s Day is omnipresent (and imminent!), on our screens, in our magazines, in our soaps and yes, in our blogs.
It’s big for us of course, who could imagine Valentine’s Day without chocolate? But this year we’ve tried to offer something a little bit different for the love struck out there.
We are winners of the Good Housekeeping Food Awards for Best Small Chocolate Producer
So excited and proud to have won, Thanks to my team here for making it all happen.
Sometimes we just have to pinch oursleves when we get interviewed by publications like this and then they put it in the finance section.
We love what we do and at times its so bloody hard we want to give up... but we are surrounded by chocolate and super fun and creative people who make us want to achieve more.
I don’t know about you, but my Christmas list is liberally sprinkled with some ‘difficult’ to buy for friends and relatives. It’s not that I don’t love them or that I don’t know them well enough to have ideas of what to get them; it’s more “ oh no love, don’t waste your money on me”or “I’ve got everything I need”,or even “I hate gimicky presents”. Well, we have the solution here at Choc on Choc. And yup, you’ve guessed it, it’s Chocolate!
So, with our apologies to those that simply don’t like the luscious stuff, here’s our Christmas Gift Guide for the Hard To Please.
For the Trendsetter
Our ever so gorgeous Chocolate
I arrive early for my meeting at the Choc on Choc headquarters in the Somerset village of Rode with Flo and Michele. What struck me upon entering Chocolate House was the invitingly warm atmosphere filled with the scent of chocolate, ‘Mmmm…’ I think ‘…chocolate.’ and my stomach growls as if in agreement.
First things first, I am invited to a tour of the factory. I don the attractive hair net and step from the office and into the Maker’s room. Vats of unctuous smooth silky white chocolate gently undulates to my right and to my left are crates of the newly created chocolates. The makers tables are littered with tempting remnants of chocolate.
The chocolate aroma is heightened by about a thousand percent and by now my brain is literally screaming ‘Chocolate!’. My inner Bridget [Jones] is saying ‘I’m a mature, sophisticated woman, don’t disgrace yourself.’.

Last night Flo made her way to London to the Not on the high street.com awards wearing her sparkles!
Our chocolate cheeseboard was up for Best Wow Product of the year out of all the things avaliable on their site.
There were 20 awards in total and a lovely buzz around the place and plenty of free champagne which after a while stopped Flo's feet from hurting in her killer heels!
We were shortlisted and then we won! NB more champagne was drunk , Flo had her photo taken and was asked to be on film saying how excited she was .... can't wait to see that tipsy clip.
After much anticipation, it’s finally here - our chocolate blog!
